1. Data Volatility and Retention

DFUS is designed for temporary file transfer. All files uploaded to our servers are automatically and permanently deleted 7 days after the upload date. If a file is marked with the "Burn After Reading" feature, it is permanently deleted immediately after the first successful download.

2. Cloud Storage Backup

To ensure high availability, files are temporarily mirrored to Gofile.io. We do not control Gofile's retention policies, but files hosted on their free tier are typically purged automatically after a period of inactivity.

3. Security and Passwords

Passwords used to protect files are hashed using bcrypt before being stored in our database. We cannot recover lost passwords, and we cannot decrypt your files if you lose your password.

4. Personal Information

We do not require user accounts, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information (PII) to use DFUS. We do not track you, and we do not sell your data.
